The Head of State, Macky Sall, proceeded on Friday, in Tivaouane (west), to the launch of the construction works of the first link of the Dakar-Saint-Louis highway passing through the city nun, found the APS.
Arrived in Tivaouane in the early evening, President Sall launched the work of other roads in this department of the Thiès region, on the third day of his economic tour which began on Wednesday.
Macky Sall specified that this is the launch from Tivaouane of the first link of the Dakar-Tivaouane-Saint-Louis highway.
“The forthcoming construction of the Dakar-Tivaouane-Saint-Louis motorway over 200 km and the extension of the Northern Clearance Route (VDN) into a motorway between Tivaouane Peulh and Diamniadio over 20 km, two related projects, will increase the length of highway to 531 km by 2026”, explained Mr. Sall.
He assured that the realization of this highway will be done in two sections which will be “executed simultaneously”.
In addition to the Dakar-Saint Louis highway, he continued, Tivaouane welcomes the launch of the asphalting works of the Darou Alpha-Pambal-Tivaouane section, an old complaint of the populations, and rehabilitation of the Mboro-Diogo road. .
The construction of these infrastructures will cost more than 120 billion CFA francs financed by the government of Senegal with the assistance of the World Bank, the Saudi Fund and the Societe Generale banking group.
